The data challenges behind firm-level research
01
Official statistics stop at the industry or state level, so firm-level questions stay out of reach.
02
Raw profile and posting data takes months of cleaning and entity matching before the first regression.
03
Referees ask how the sample was built, and a scraped dataset has no documented answer.

What you can measure
Employment
Headcount by occupation, seniority, and location for each firm, monthly from 2008.
Hiring
5.6 billion deduplicated job postings with salary, skills, and requirements.
Careers
Individual work and education histories, so you can follow people across firms, roles, and regions.

Use cases
Labor economics
How did early-career hiring change in occupations with high exposure to AI?
Finance and accounting
Do shifts in a firm's workforce composition predict earnings or returns?
Management and strategy
Where do employees go after an acquisition, and what happens to the teams they leave?

Built by researchers, for research
Talk to an ExpertOur methodology is public. The data dictionary documents sources, deduplication, entity resolution, standardization, and reweighting.
We reweight against the BLS in the US and the ILO elsewhere to correct for who appears online. Our monthly employment estimate tracks BLS payroll changes with a 0.77 correlation.
Our economists publish with the data. For example, NBER Working Paper 35546 with Nicholas Bloom on how professionals rewrite their job histories.
