Technopark, Trivandrum, an autonomous society promoted by the Government of Kerala, is India's first technology park and is among the largest IT parks in India today. It is registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955. This is a CMMI Level 4, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OSHAS 18001:2007 Certified Technology Park. Technopark came into existence in 1990, in the capital city of Kerala - Thiruvananthapuram. Spread over 766.86 acres of land area in five phases, with about 10.6 million sq. ft. of built-up space and 1.2 million sq. ft. of area in progress, Technopark hosts over 470 IT and ITES companies. This is including 6 CMMI Level 5, 2 CMMI Level 3 and several ISO 9000 certified companies, employing over 70,000 IT Professionals.
