Turkish Aircraft Industries Inc. (TAI) was established in June under the Ministry of Industry and Technology in order to reduce Turkey’s external dependency in defense industry. With the decision to use F-planes to meet the fighter jet needs of the Turkish Air Force, TAI Aviation and Space Industries Inc. (TAI) was established by TAI in 2010 as a Turkish-USA joint investment company for the purpose of manufacturing the F-plane, integrating the systems on the aircraft, and delivering them to our Air Force by performing flight tests. Before the completion of the annual process, the foreign shares of TAI were purchased by Turkish shareholders in 2010 and the company was restructured. Within this scope, TAI and TAI merged and expanded their activities under the roof of TAI – Turkish Aviation and Space Industries Inc., and became the technology center of Turkey in the development, modernization, production, system integration and life cycle support processes of aviation and space industry systems. TUSAŞ, which is among the top 100 players in the global aviation and space industry, is organized under six strategic business centers, depending on the project subjects: • Structural Group, • Aircraft Group, • Helicopter Group, • Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Systems Group, • Space Systems Group, • National Combat Aircraft (MMU) Group. In addition, integrated logistics support service is provided for all products designed/manufactured by TUSAŞ.
