Founded in 1984, the Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, Inc. (NWTF) began as a non-governmental organization that aims to help women achieve self-sufficiency and self-reliance, particularly in Negros Occidental’s low-income and depressed urban and rural communities. It sought to increase women’s awareness of their economic potential, to increase their skills and productivity and to improve their quality of life. In 1989, NWTF accepted the challenge of replicating the Grameen Bank credit methodology and established Project Dungganon (Honorable). Today, NWTF continues to be guided with its vision of becoming a leading and fully sustainable microfinance institution renowned for its commitment and professionalism to provide the poorest with real and meaningful opportunities towards building a future where every Filipino is Dungganon. The Management keeps on redesigning its credit products to meet the needs of its clients, while pursuing an on-going training of staff, review and update of its policies and procedures to suit the current needs of the organization and the implementation of an MIS system that would put the organization at par with other institutions in providing fast and accurate service to its clients. NWTF hopes that the years ahead will bring success not only to its clients but also to its people.
