About Fraunhofer Institute for
The Fraunhofer Project Center for Smart Manufacturing at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is a joint venture between SJTU and the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (Fraunhofer IPA) in Stuttgart. The Project Center researches and develops application-related solutions in the research field of smart manufacturing and factory planning. The technologies and expertise developed at Fraunhofer IPA are combined and enlarged with the know-how and capacities of the local Chinese partners in the fields of “Industrie 4.0”. This will be done in joint research activities between researchers from Germany and China during frequent visits in a high technology park of SJTU supported by Shanghai Lin Gang Area Development Administration (SLADA).
