EC was founded in 1967 and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and is governed by the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. The college has served as a satellite campus for Central Washington University since 1975, and has university partnerships with University of Washington and Washington State University.
