Since our establishment in 1994 we have gained a leading position in manufacturing steel products for the building industry in Uganda. At Roofings Ltd, we are committed to achieving a firm regional presence through ensuring total customer satisfaction. Our investment has grown from USD$ 2 million in 1995 to USD$ 55 million in 2008. The number of employees has now reached 850, from 60 in 1995. We attribute this level of growth not only to the expansion of the steel sector in general, but also to our reliable, high quality standards and continuous improvements in our production processes and capabilities. Foreign market sales (exports) have grown from USD$ 300,000 in 1997 to USD$ 52 million in 2008. Through this remarkable growth we have achieved numerous presidential export awards; Gold Medal in steel sector exports (2003-2007), and the unprecedented Platinum Award for best overall exporter in 2008. Roofings won President's Exporter Gold award in 2009 for Metal Products. Roofings Ltd. strives to be a one stop shop for all steel building requirements; therefore the company also trades in a wide range of complementary steel products. Roofings Ltd. Today, we are the single largest manufacturer of both electro-welded tubes and wire products in the region.
