In , the late Abdelaziz Tazi created a first industrial unit called Atlas Plastics and specialized in the production of various plastic articles. Five years later, Richbond SA was added to this first unit and was also very successful. The vertical integration of Richbond SA has allowed it to cover, since the 1990s, various activities ranging from spinning to mattresses, including weaving and foam manufacturing. Together, Atlas Plastics and Richbond SA formed the core of what would later become Richbond Group. The latter then expanded its activity to cover several branches, ranging from furniture to real estate, including the food industry and even hotel design. As a result, Richbond Group is today one of the flagships of the Moroccan economy, with a consolidated turnover of . billion Dh. The group employs some employees in addition to indirect jobs, distributed between production sites including on the Ivory Coast. Supported by an annual investment rate of MDH, the Group also plans to transfer all of its industrial activities to two new integrated parks on the outskirts of Casablanca, for a total cost of millions of Dh, the objective being to optimize production costs in order to improve its competitiveness and responsiveness on the market.
