Research encompassing 1,500,000 participants in 102 countries on 6 continents. PHRI (Population Health Research Institute), a joint institute of McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences, is a world leader in clinical trials and large population health observational studies.
PHRI is entering its third decade, still led by founder and Executive Director, Dr. Salim Yusuf. He and his team of now 300+ staff, senior scientists, scientists, investigators and research fellows, are asking important questions about cardiovascular disease, diabetes, PHRI’s research areas now also include perioperative and surgery; stroke and brain health; ACS and interventional cardiology; infectious diseases, GI, population genomics; thrombosis; heart failure; renal disease; obesity; childhood risk factors; and more.
