A private law structure, the Louvre Endowment Fund was created in to capitalize donations, legacies as well as sums resulting from the partnership between the United Arab Emirates and France. All the sums paid constitute capital which cannot be consumed and of which only the income can be distributed to the Louvre Museum. Inspired by the model of the American Endowment Funds, the Louvre Endowment Fund should ultimately become the fourth pillar of financing for the Louvre Museum, alongside public subsidies, revenue generated by ticketing and the museum's own resources. The Louvre Endowment Fund is the preferred recipient within the Louvre to receive legacies and donations. It also offers the possibility of creating personal funds within the Louvre Endowment Fund, thus constituting a tailor-made family philanthropic structure, which donors add to at their own pace under advantageous tax conditions.
