Cancer – investigating how cancer starts developing, and exploring ways to better diagnose, detect and treat life-threatening cases. 5. Hormones and Health – improving the understanding of how your hormonal (endocrine) system maintains its delicate balance to improve your health and wellbeing. Our 443 scientists and students ask questions that push the boundaries of human knowledge to solve complex problems about human disease. Clinical experience based on patient need informs our research enquiry, and our close ties with medical staff and industry support the translation of our discoveries into new preventative approaches, therapies and devices for patient.
