About Concessao Metroviaria
The Rio de Janeiro Metro has been operating since March . In , with the concession, the administration and operation of the lines and stations were the responsibility of the Consortium Opportrans (Metrô Rio, concessionaire for a period of years. At the end of December , the concession was renewed until and Metrô Rio assumed responsibility for construction of Line A, which will connect the line to Linha, ending the need for transfers in Estácio, through the purchase of cars and construction of Uruguai and Cidade Nova Stations. It is the second most extensive network in the country, with km distributed over two lines and stations, second only to the São Paulo Metro. It transports around a thousand passengers daily.
