With a dedicated staff of over 100 physicians and 1,200 employees, Broadlawns Medical Center ensures that our community has access to high quality healthcare that is coordinated, compassionate and cost-effective. The Broadlawns Medical Center campus includes an acute care hospital, primary and specialty care clinics, urgent care and emergency services, lab, radiology, dentistry, inpatient and outpatient mental health, crisis team, and community-based behavioral support services. Broadlawns accepts all forms of insurance and its approach to healthcare and quality outcomes earned a Level 3 rating from the National Committee for Quality Assurance, the highest achievable status for a medical delivery model. Broadlawns takes a leadership position in teaching the next generation of healthcare professionals through its residency and fellowship programs. In 1971, it became one of the first fully accredited Family Medicine Residency programs in the Midwest and has curricula designed to meet all requirements of the residency review committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Broadlawns offers fellowship training in podiatry and psychiatry and serves as the largest extramural training facility for the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. In July 2018, Broadlawns and UnityPoint Health - Des Moines began offering a jointly administered Psychiatry Residency Program. It is our privilege to attend to the healthcare needs of our community.
