Borsa Istanbul, together with its subsidiaries Takasbank and Central Registry Agency (MKK), provides services for a wide range of products in Turkey such as shares, debt instruments, repos, sukuk, brokerage firm warrants, options and futures contracts, certificates and exchange traded funds. It is the only institution that offers all buying-selling, clearing, custody and registration services. Borsa Istanbul has successfully completed the processes of incorporation, horizontal integration (merger with futures and precious metals exchanges) and vertical integration (majority shareholder status in Takasbank and MKK) with a comprehensive reform carried out in accordance with the new Capital Markets Law that came into force in 2017. The reform program was completed with significant improvements in technological infrastructure, diversification of financial products, opening of new markets and increasing international efficiency. Borsa İstanbul, through its subsidiaries (Takasbank – İstanbul Settlement and Custody Bank Inc. and MKK – the Central Securities Depository Agency, is the sole provider of trading, clearing, settlement, custody and registry services in Turkey for a wide range of products such as equities, debt securities, repo, sukuk, warrants, options, futures, certificates and ETFs.
