Release

Hiring and Attrition — June 2026

Release Date: July 1, 2026

Summary

Underpinning the strong job growth number this month, hiring ticked up and attrition slowed significantly from May to June. The uptick in hiring was driven by the Leisure and Hospitality and Public Administration sectors, while the largest declines in attrition were concentrated in the Information and Manufacturing sectors. While employers are largely holding on to the workers they have, a lack of opportunities elsewhere is pushing down voluntary separations as well, leading to the sharp decline in attrition.
