Hiring and Attrition — November 2025

Release Date: December 4, 2025

Summary

Hiring and attrition rates continued their downward trend, reflecting a slowdown in labor market dynamism. In November, the annualized hiring rate stood at roughly 21.5%, down from levels consistently above 30% during the 2021–2022 hiring boom. Attrition rates also declined, suggesting workers are increasingly staying in their jobs as opportunities to switch have diminished. The slowdown in both hiring and attrition points to a cooler labor market, where fewer firms are expanding headcount and job seekers face limited openings.
