About Sport Vlaanderen

We are the sports administration of the Flemish government, and we have a mission: we want to offer all people in Flanders as many opportunities as possible to participate in sports and exercise throughout their lives. We do this by making the sports and exercise offering in Flanders as high-quality and accessible as possible, tailored to each athlete. We invest in and advise on building or renovating sports infrastructure, and we also operate thirteen well-equipped sports centers spread across Flanders that are available to everyone. Almost every year young people enjoy themselves here during one of our sports camps, and almost . in our sports classes, but also clubs, companies and individual athletes can go there all year round. We train trainers with the Flemish Trainers School, because we believe that quality sports guidance at all stages of life is crucial to enable people to experience sports in a healthy, sustainable and safe way. Every year, the Flemish Trainers School awards more than one diploma to sports coaches who have successfully completed training. Top athletes find a central point of contact for all their needs in Sport Vlaanderen. We also want to use the inspiring and connecting power of top sport to get Flanders moving. We share our knowledge, bring people together, and look to the future with an open mind. To this end, we always work in close collaboration with the Flemish sports sector and relevant partners. We support local municipal authorities and their sports services, but also sports federations, clubs and other sports actors on a financial, logistical or organizational level, so that they can offer sports and exercise in a high-quality manner. We do all this because we believe that exercising and exercising can make everyone happier and healthier, and it makes us stronger and closer as a society.
