About Laborie Medical
The Optilume® drug-coated balloon technology provides a minimally invasive treatment option for men suffering from urinary tract conditions like urethral strictures and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH affects 70% of men 60-69 years of age and 80% of those 70 years of age or older. Moreover, urethral stricture is a narrowing of the urethra caused by scarring that obstructs the flow of urine as a result of inflammatory, ischemic or traumatic processes. The drug-coated balloon technology creates a paradigm change from the methods currently used by urologists to treat these conditions.
