CKPower Public Company Limited (CKP) – one of the region’s largest renewables-based electricity producers with one of the lowest carbon footprints, aims to use renewables e.g. solar power, hydropower and wind power for virtually all of its electricity production by 2024. The company currently invests in companies operating the business of production and distribution of electricity in both Thailand and the Lao PDR, in 3 types of power plants; hydroelectric power plant (88%), solar power plant (1%), and cogeneration power plant (11%). The company will increase the proportion of renewables-based electricity from currently 89% to 95% or 4,800 megawatts.
