The AFM-Téléthon is an association of parents and patients who lead a tireless fight against rare and seriously disabling genetic diseases. ► An association of activists, patients and parents of patients engaged in the fight against rare genetic diseases that kill muscle after muscle, neuromuscular diseases. ► The AFM-Téléthon was born from a conviction and a desire: to cure diseases long considered incurable. To succeed, it has set itself a golden rule: rigor and efficiency. ► Within the AFM-Téléthon, volunteers and employees come together to implement a strategy guided solely by the interests of patients and the urgency of the progressive disease. Three missions: Heal (research and development of innovative therapies, Help the sick (care, support, citizenship, Communicate knowledge to families, professionals and the general public. ► The Association leads a strategy of general interest. Innovation scientific, medical and social that it promotes benefits all rare diseases and people with disabilities and advances medicine as a whole. ► The AFM-Téléthon is also the Telethon, a unique popular mobilization which brought rare diseases out of nowhere and enabled a triple genetic, social and medical revolution with the development of biotherapies.
