REYKJAVIK AIRPORT Reykjavík International Airport is the Center for domestic flights in Iceland. The airport is located in Vatnsmýri which is near the centre of Reykjavík. Built during the second world war, If the land area around the aerodrome is divided into four sectors, it can be said that both the north-east and north-west sectors are densely populated, while the south-east sector is much sparser – as it is mostly an outlying areas apart from the university building. The runways of Reykjavík Airport are open from 07:00 - 23:00 on weekdays and from 08:00 - 23:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, and on public holidays.
