Founded by medical professors from the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the Escola Paulista de Medicina – currently the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), FIDI is a private, non-profit Foundation that reinvests % of its resources in medical assistance to the Brazilian population, through the development of diagnostic imaging solutions, carrying out teaching, research and medical-scientific extension activities, social and philanthropic actions. With . collaborators and a technical team made up of more than doctors, FIDI is present in health units in the states of São Paulo and Goiás, and is the largest provider of imaging diagnostic services in the SUS, carrying out approximately million exams per year, between magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, ultrasound, mammography, X-rays and bone densitometry. The Foundation also works to propose innovative solutions for public health, such as the computerized tomography image analysis system using artificial intelligence, and participated in the first Public-Private Partnership for diagnostic imaging in Bahia. Twice, FIDI received the Health References award, in the Care Quality category, and three times it was a medalist in international challenges on the application of artificial intelligence in imaging diagnosis, proposed at the annual conference of the North American Society of Radiology, considered the largest congress of the sector in the world. For two consecutive years, the Goiás and SEDI III units received the seal of “Excellent Company to Work For” (GPTW) in and , and, at the end of , the FIDI Reporting Center obtained ISO certification: for Quality Management, by the International Organization for Standardization.
